How we write

Our editorial policy

How our guides and journal articles are written, checked against our catalogue and reputable sources, kept up to date and corrected when needed.

Last updated

We want every page on vibrator.toys to be accurate, honest and genuinely useful. This editorial policy explains who writes our content, how it is checked, how we use AI writing tools and what to do if you spot a mistake. It applies to our guides, our journal (blog) articles and our product information. You can read more about us on our about page.

Who writes our content?

Our guides are written and maintained by the vibrator.toys editorial team, with the help of AI writing tools. Every guide is checked against our catalogue specifications and against the sources it cites before it is published. Our content carries the byline "Editorial team, vibrator.toys", because we would rather be clear about who is behind it than attach a name or title to give it authority it has not earned.

How do you use AI?

We use AI writing tools to help draft and edit content, and we are open about it:

  • Guides are drafted with AI assistance, then reviewed by our editorial team and checked against our catalogue and cited sources.
  • Journal articles are drafted with AI assistance and published automatically only after they pass a set of automated checks. Those checks confirm that product facts match our catalogue, that no prices are typed by hand (prices always come straight from the catalogue), that there is no explicit language, that there are no health claims, and that any sources are on reputable domains. An article that fails any check is not published.

What will you never do?

  • We never invent experts, credentials, reviews, star ratings, testimonials or statistics.
  • We never present a product specification we have not confirmed. If our supplier has not confirmed a figure, we leave it out until we have checked it.
  • We never create false urgency, such as countdown timers or invented deadlines.
  • We never copy other retailers' text.

How do you handle wellness topics?

Some of our guides touch on wellbeing, such as body confidence or changes during menopause. That content is general information only. It uses careful language such as "may", it cites the NHS or peer-reviewed research for any wellness point, and it never promises an outcome. It is not a substitute for advice from a health professional: if you have a health concern, please speak to your GP or a pharmacist.

Are your product recommendations independent?

No, and we say so. We are a shop, and when a guide or article recommends a product, it is one of our own. We aim to recommend honestly, which includes saying when a different kind of toy might suit you better, or when a specification has not yet been confirmed. Prices always come directly from our catalogue, so they are never out of date in our content.

How do you keep content up to date?

Every guide and article shows an "Updated" date. We review content when our catalogue changes, when the sources we cite are updated, and when readers point out something that could be clearer. You can browse all of our guides by topic.

How do I report a mistake?

Please email hello@vibrator.toys and tell us which page and what looks wrong. We read every message, check it against our catalogue and sources, and correct errors promptly. Where a correction changes the meaning of a page, we update its "Updated" date.

What language and tone do you use?

Warm, inclusive and non-judgemental. We make no assumptions about gender, relationship status or experience, we never use explicit language, and we focus on comfort, confidence and pleasure. For anything else about how we work, see our about page or contact us.
